Taken from Under Five Sovereigns by Joseph Rodgers and Sons Ltd., Ref. 338.4 SF. John Rodgers lived from 1701 - 1785. In Reminiscences of Sheffield Leader gives the following extract from an old rent book: House and workshop, vacant land, situate in Holy Croft (now Hawley Croft) left to John Rodgers, paying yearly seven guineas.
